The Principal activities of the company are stevedoring of Feeder vessels, General Cargo Ships including container handling (stuffing & un-stuffing), Bulk Cargo Ships including food grains, Cement and Cement Clinker, Fertilizer, Rapeseeds, Crude Soya bean Oil, Crude Petroleum, Naptha, Furnace Oil, Iron and Steel products raw materials, Project cargo etc.
Containerization essential aspects of modern shipping started playing an important role in Bangladesh from early eighties. Due to growth of readymade garments, fish and jute material exports in international market maritime trade to and from Bangladesh also increased by feeder vessel through Singapore and Colombo as transhipment hubs. MHCL is the only company to handle largest number of TEUs at Chittagong Port since 1998.
